We are days away from the Official Southern California Junior Solar Sprint where students will compete their solar-powered model cars for the opportunity to go to Florida for the national championship, sponsored by Sullivan Solar Power!
Over 65 teams and 95 middle school students are registered for Saturday's event. Encinitas Mayor Catherine S. Blakespear will speak at the event, which will be emceed by local surf expert and KPBS surf reporter Scott Bass. The Electric Vehicle Association of San Diego will be displaying electric vehicles. We will have King Kream Ice Cream and Salt + Lime Mexican Food trucks as well as a bounce house.
Bring the family and join the fun, celebrating science and getting students excited about the power of the sun. "
